To make SCHOTT‘s production more sustainable, SCHOTT is now starting large-scale tests on how to power melting tanks with hydrogen.
Over a month, company experts will gradually increase the ratio of hydrogen in the melt up to 35 percent. This project is one of the first of its kind in the specialty glass industry.
SCHOTT is supported by strong partners: the European Union, Mainzer Stadtwerke AG, Staatskanzlei Rheinland-Pfalz, and the Environmental Ministry of Rheinland-Pfalz.
